Anime review: PaniPoni Dash! (2005)

The shitpost/parody anime to end them all. To describe it as a recipe: take a solid base of Azumanga Daioh school life, add a Lucky Star level of references and a decent helping of Cromartie style surrealism, then finally top it with a pinch of Nekojiru-sou weirdness and mix well.

I won't pretend its gags hit 100% of the time - especially the repeat ones - but said hit rate still being quite high combined with the machine gun delivery makes every episode a delight. Even more valuable is the constant attention to detail! You almost have to pause at times to read all the small signs.

A hidden gem in its genre, really. Just don't watch more than an episode at a time, I guarantee you'd get an overdose.
