Novel review: Frank Herbert - Hellstrom's Hive (1973)

I kinda forced myself to review this one, seeing as it didn't leave me with any impression of note. Mind you, it wasn't a bad read in any way, since Herbert does know how to write well, but… I don't know.
I had already seen the exceedingly cool pseudo-documentary that inspired the novel (almost mandatory, to be honest) but my opinion didn't change because of that. Like in Dune or his ConSentiency stuff, I love his intelligently written characters and long dialogues or his obsession with human evolution/adaptation to his environment, but this time, the plot simply didn't gel with me. Don't ask me why ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
Yet, despite my lack of enthusiasm about it, I can't ignore the fact that I read it in one or two evenings. That's how smoothly Herbert's style suits me.
